The Ski Club of New Jersey organizes so many activities for members, it’s hard to know where to begin to list them.
There are Holiday parties at our club meeting place, The Twin Door Tavern in Maywood, N.J.
We have an eagerly anticipated, annual Christmas & New Year’s Eve event featuring fireworks and a champagne toast at midnight held at our Vermont Lodge.
There is a Ladies Ski week and a Men’s Ski week and Interclub Races and Youth Races.
We also have a MLK kids weekend as well a “Presidents week” specifically devoted for younger skiers and their families.
There is a St. Patrick’s day party at the Twin Door Tavern, and a “March Madness & Ski” weekend at the lodge for basketball fans.
And during the summer, Aqua Weekend is a highlight event, which includes kayaking and other water sports, also up at our Vermont Lodge.
Club members sponsor New York and New Jersey area hikes, and because of our relationship with the New Jersey Ski and Snowboard Council, there are clinics and expositions.
We should also mention our yearly ski trips out West or to Europe. These trips are club organized and offer wonderful discounts.
Again, our association with the New Jersey Ski and Snowboard Council ensures that we have access to their many east coast and west coast trips.
The number of places to go and see in Vermont is endless, and because we own our Vermont Lodge, Ski Club of New Jersey Members have access to everything in season and off New England has to offer.
Area hiking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, horseback riding, visiting maple sugar farms and antique shops, or catching a summer stock musical at the West Playhouse ensures that a stay at the lodge is never boring.
Whether in our home area or in Vermont, there are always plenty of activities associated with the club.
